I know that it has been awhile...

I started back to work two weeks ago and that seems to have made things a little more busy. We have been loving the weather. We have been doing a lot of outdoor activities and soaking it all up. Eli started back to preschool too and is adjusting well to his new teacher AKA mom :) Kiley is becoming Daddy's little. Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

We made it home!! We got home from Mayo at Rochester late Saturday and Grandma and Grandpa brought Kiley home this morning. It is so nice to be home.

Kiley did great at the grandparents and is already going through withdrawals asking about Papa and Pee Wee(the kitten) all afternoon or at least after I woke her up after sleeping for almost 4hrs. I think that they wore her out.

Eli did amazing this week. He was a champion w/all the blood work and tests. It was a long week, but we did have a little free time between procedures and appointments. We went bowling, did a paddle boat, swam, and got to see Sesame Street Live thanks to the Ronald McDonald House.
Eli made a little friend at the house, Noah, they played together and got to go to the show together. Eli was on a liquid diet for two days while there so the night after his scopes and biopsies we got him a pizza and he ate the whole thing!
All of our doctors this week were great and the facilities are amazing, the picture below is in one of the waiting areas. Eli was waiting for his last round of blood work w/his doctor hat on that they gave him at surgery and his plane that one of the office doctors gave him. I wish I could say that they know for sure what is wrong but we do not, they like previous doctors are leaning toward chrones but also looking into the possibility that he has something else on top of that b/c of the severity of his ulceration. We are waiting on two test that Mayo sends out for a little more direction or at least knowledge before making major decisions about his future treatments.

Mayo Update

Well I just thought that it might be easiest to post an update on here for those interested. We made it here fine Monday, Eli was great on the ride and our appointments started early Tues. morning. I have kind of lost track of time since... We spent most of Tues in appointments and getting the rest of the week schedule set. Wednesday started early with CT scan and blood work. Eli did great drinking his solution and holding perfectly still and got lots of compliments along the way. We had Wed. afternoon off and found a park to explore and got to take a paddle boat out on a lake. It was nice to have a little break from all the testing and a change of scenery for Eli as he was on a liquid diet and not finding much of anything that he liked in the liquid department. This morning Eli had scopes, biopsy, blood work, and more new doctors. He did great and is defiantly wore out. Tomorrow we have another appointment and blood work and we will find out late afternoon if we are done or not.

Most of the results and decisions will be made tomorrow. The scope found ulcers starting after his esophagus and and continuing all the way through, nothing new and kind of what we expected. We will see if the new biopsy's show anything different.

Big Blessing is that we got into the Ronald McDonald House so we will be here tonight and tomorrow depending on what happens.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers this week as Kiley spends some time w/Grandma and Grandpa and Brian and I take Eli to the Mayo clinic. We leave Monday and could be there for several days. His appointments start at 7:45 Tuesday morning and we go from there. We are hoping for some answers and better alternatives than what we have at this time.

On a side note if anyone is wondering Rubbing Alcohol takes white out off of skin fairly easily - we have Kiley to thank for that discovery as she painted her leg and arm this morning?!

We spent some time on the farm again over the weekend and my children, especially Kiley made a new friend. My mom found a baby cat in the ditch and rescued it. Her name is Pee Wee (Kiley sometimes calls her Pee Wee and sometimes calls her Pee Pee) She quickly became her newest accessory!

We also got to help with sweat corn! The kids had fun and I regained an appreciation for anyone who freezes or cans!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the cooler days of summer, the weather has been great. We have been having lots of fun at the many parks, gardens, and pools that our little city has to offer.

Having fun running around and checking out the fish!

Fun swimming at the Y - one of Eli's favorite!

Children's Museum Fun!
