I think that it is fair to say that we are settled in and enjoying the summer. The new house has a 'tree house' of sorts in the back yard and both the kids enjoy it especially Kiley. Brian and Eli have big plans for it so we will see what it looks like in a few weeks. (I am not talking Jasper tree house style just normal tree house :) Eli has been reading through the Magic Tree House books this summer and he loves them - I think that is also why the tree house is such a draw right now.

The local library sponsored a 5K and 1K kids run this morning so the kids and I both participated in our first 'race'. I left while everyone was sleeping and did the 5K then Brian got the kids up and came. As I was leaving I did have a thought that maybe I should set out the kids clothes, but did not...

Anyway they both did great and had fun. They received a metal and a book at the finish line and are ready for another 'race' next weekend.

The kids and I spent the morning with friends taking a little hike, playing in the water, and enjoying a picnic lunch. It is a nice little area w/a waterfall and a lot of shade which is wonderful. Somehow I did not get a picture of the actual waterfall but they had fun in the little spout as they called it...

The kids just finished up a week of swimming lessons and they both seemed to enjoy it. They take lessons from a lady at her home and she also has horses, rabbits, a couple of dogs, and two very large play structures so the kids have a lot of fun in and out of the water.

We also tried out a little splash park in town for the first time - it was a little small but the kids had fun for a while.

Here are a few pictures of summer fun we have had with the kids so far...

This week Brian and I had our 10 year anniversary. It has been a great ten years filled with many ups and downs but has never lacked adventure. As we complete our 9th move in our ten years of marriage we feel very blessed and grateful for all God has given us. I love you Brian, thank you for all you do for me and our family.
It has been awhile but we have been kind of busy. We have managed to finish out school, move to a new house, settle in and are getting ready for swimming lessons and then a trip to KS. We are all enjoying the new house (#9). Though we do miss some of the space we do not miss the bugs and issues of the house so goodbye house... (Eli thought that I needed to take a picture of the house so he would remember)
