Brian had another speech to give this morning and this one was in town for the Nebraska Dietetic Association. So here is my handsome husband and little lady before he left.

Yesterday was just one of those days...
After being locked out of the house (for the second time this week) for a couple hours and finally being able to 'break' back in (a little scary I know?!) the day was not off to a great start. Kiley is really into shoes right now and loves being outside. Shortly after we got back in Kiley brought her jelly shoes(I guess they are making a come back?!) out to me when I asked her what she wanted to wear them w/she went back into her room and after a couple of minutes came out with the yellow dress. So we took a walk - I know the yellow is a little over kill but I needed a little sunshine. Enjoy
We spent the morning at Pioneers Park (thank you Rachelle) and had a great time. It is a huge nature park w/trails, animals, playground...
Kiley was all about touching the turtle and snake that the lady was showing us. Eli watched contently from afar - I of course did not have my camera at that point but here are a few pictures.
We are loving the weather!

I have always enjoyed Eater. It is always a humbling reminder of Christ's love for us and good time to reflect on the past and look into the future. For Eli this Easter he is beginning to understand more of what it is all about in his freshly four year old mind. It is fun to see him process it all, but also a bit challenging to help him understand something so powerful and life changing.
As we have been talking about the crucifixion and resurrection the whole concept of life and death have been mulling in his little brain. The other day Brian and I were talking about a trip that we had taken when we were first married in TN. Eli was listening intently to the whole thing and says, "Huh, I don't really remember that." Brian explains to him that he was not alive yet and we go on with the day. Later we were talking about something else and Eli says, "I don't remember that either, was that when I was dead too?" I kind of smiled and asked him what he meant. He says, "Well if you are not alive then you are dead so I must have been dead then." Opposites are great :)
Anyway... we spent the Eater weekend with my family and the kids as always had fun on the farm. Kiley has now been introduced to the mud and puddles and loved it (you have got to love the outfit!). We got to see new baby kittens and spend some time with cousins!

Well, we made it back on Monday from vacation. We drove 10 hours to the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Keller and Grapevine to be specific). We had a lot of fun. Uncle Bob (Brian's brother) put us up at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine as a birthday present for Eli and he loved it!! One of his quotes was, "Wow mom this not just fun, this is like so supper cool fun!"
Kiley was mesmerized with the talking trees and animals at story time at Great Wolf, it was pretty neat. Both of them loved the water and Eli's favorite was the wave pool. You would have to listen and when the wolves howled the waves would start.
After two days at the lodge we went to Brian's brother's house and stayed for a few days. Eli and Kiley now have another boy cousin. Congrats Bob and Camile. Noah is a sweet baby. Eli now has a new favorite person in Maddy too. We also got to see Thomas the train while in Grapevine. Nathanial (Bob's middle son) loves Thomas and all the other kids had fun too. Camile you are amazing - not only did she just have a baby, but she had company at her house and made homemade sushi!
